In order to compete with the more experienced and formally trained paralegals and stand out from the crowd, we encourage you to graduate from an ABA-approved (American Bar Association) paralegal program because it greatly enhance your chance of employment, although many employers doesn’t require it. You are also encouraged to obtain a certification from a national or local organization to distinguish yourself from the crowd. According to National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA), there were 15.856 Certified Paralegals and 1,938 Advanced Certified Paralegals in the United States.
